About Calisthenics Hub
Calisthenics Hub is a free map of 34,000+ outdoor training spots in 500 cities across 60 countries, combined with a library of 90 bodyweight exercises, training plans and guides — in English and German.
Why this site exists
Bodyweight training needs very little: a bar, a pair of parallel bars, some space. What is often missing is knowing where the nearest decent set of bars is, and what to do once you get there. Most parks never show up on a regular map search, and most exercise advice online skips the progressions that get a beginner from zero to the first pull-up.
Calisthenics Hub puts both in one place: find a spot, see what equipment it has, and pick exercises and a plan that match your level.
Where the spot data comes from
Most spots come from OpenStreetMap, the open map built by volunteers. We import fitness stations, outdoor gyms and street workout parks together with the equipment, lighting and other details mappers have recorded, and refresh the import regularly. OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
Members add spots, photos and reviews of their own. New spots and photos are checked by a moderator before they appear on the map.
What we do not do: we have not visited the spots ourselves, and an OpenStreetMap entry is not a guarantee that the equipment is still there or in good condition. Ratings shown on the site come only from member reviews — a spot without reviews is shown without a rating, never with an estimated one.
- Numbers on city and country pages are counted from the listings themselves, not estimated.
- Every spot page shows its exact coordinates, so you can check it on satellite imagery before you go.
Editorial guidelines
Guides, blog posts and exercise pages are written and maintained by the Calisthenics Hub editorial team. These rules apply to all of them:
- Progressions before prescriptions: every exercise page explains the easier and harder variations, so readers can start where they actually are.
- No invented evidence. Where we cite research, we name it; where something is coaching experience rather than research, we say so.
- No medical advice. Our content is general training information. If you have an injury or a health condition, talk to a doctor or physiotherapist first.
- No paid placements. No spot, product or brand pays to be listed, ranked or mentioned. If we ever run advertising, it will be clearly separated from editorial content.
- Blog posts show their publication date. When we learn that a page is outdated or wrong, we revise it.
Corrections
Spotted a spot that no longer exists, equipment that is wrong, or an error in a guide? Tell us through the contact form and include the page address. We correct factual errors, and remove a spot when it is confirmed gone. Mistakes in OpenStreetMap data are best also fixed at the source on openstreetmap.org, so every map that uses it benefits.
Community rules
The forum, meetups and partner finder are for real people training together. Posts that are abusive, spam or promotional are removed, and accounts that repeatedly break the terms of use can be closed. Profiles are only shown for registered members.
